QUEENSLAND NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE STRATEGY FOR DROUGHT RESILIENCE

Phase 1: Neighbourhood Centre Drought Survey

Managers/Coordinators of Neighbourhood and Community Centres across Far West and South West Area Network were encouraged to participate in the development of a Queensland Drought Response Strategy by completing an online survey.

This survey and subsequent online workshops were important, as findings guided further development of the Strategy.

The development of this Strategy is an initiative of the Queensland Families and Communities Association (QFCA) to support organisational capacity building of Neighbourhood Centres affected by drought. This project is funded by the Queensland Community Foundation (QCF).

The purpose of this survey is to explore and highlight the key roles Neighbourhood and Community Centres play in drought response to demonstrate their unique functions and approaches in communities.

Phase 2: Neighbourhood Centre Workshops

A series of online workshops were held representatives of Neighbourhood Centres to develop the Strategy.
